The ACCA Qualification

The ACCA qualification comprises of three levels:

  • Applied Knowledge Level: Consists of 3 examinations
  • Applied Skills Level: Consists of 6 examinations
  • Strategic Professional Level: Includes 2 essential papers and 2 optional papers out of 4

Beyond the three stages of 13 examinations above, an Ethics and Professional Skills Module(EPSM) and a Professional Experience Requirement (PER) of 36 months needs to be undertaken by the students.

The average duration required to qualify for ACCA is 1.5 years to 2.5 years, depending on the exemptions for some papers which are based on the student’s qualifications during the enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

To pursue ACCA qualification, candidates should have a minimum qualification of senior/higher secondary with an aggregate of 65% in Accountancy or Mathematics with English and a minimum of 50% in all the other subjects.

Candidates with graduation and postgraduation qualifications in the field of commerce and finance can claim 4 initial ACCA paper exemptions unless they have studied an integrated program in their graduation or postgraduation. Students with non-relevant degrees or non-commerce backgrounds will not receive any exemptions from the examinations.

Professionals in the field of finance and accountancy can claim up to 9 ACCA paper exemptions, subject to their eligibility status.

Graduates & Postgraduates with finance and accountancy background are eligible for the first 4 ACCA paper exemptions. Professionals in the finance & accountancy domain are eligible for 9 paper exemptions.
